Olivia Ellen BARTLETT

Olivia was known in the family as "Ellen." In 1945, Ellen was the USChampion in Roller Skating. She was also a licensed pilot. She and herhusband, Chuck, owned their own plane. She also taught Judy Johnson, whowas a professional at roller skating, also. After she had gone as far asshe could, Judy went into ice skating, where she became a champion. Judywas one of Ellen's students and was killed in a plane crash.

K. C. BARTLETT

K. C. was in WWII. He was a member of the US Army Infantry. K. C. wascaptured by the Japanese and held as a POW for 18 months. When prisonerswere released, they were taken to an airforce base to await flight backto the states for hospitalization. While waiting he asked if any oneknew Dan Bartlett (Back in the service, you could not use initials - onlyname. So DM became Dan and K. C. became Kate C. Bartlett). K. C. wastold that Dan just took off. He told them that was his brother and DMwas called back. He had no idea why he was called back. When he gotthere, there was K. C., his brother. He hardly recognized him becausehow frail and dirty he was. K. C. had a long beard and hair. A reunionhad taken place between brothers.
Other information - 9 months POW in Germany.
Education - High School.
Occupation - cook.
Church - Protestant.


Keneth Charles BARTLETT

2004 - Lived at Hope, Arkansas.


D. M. BARTLETT

D.M. was in WWII. His brother K. C. was in WWII and was a member of theUS Army Infantry. K. C. was captured by the Japanese and held as a POWfor 18 months. High School education. He has been a railroad station agent. He was astaff sargent in U. S. Air Force in World War II. He is of the Assemblyof God faith. His hobbies are golf and fishing.


James Earl Henry BARTLETT

James was known to the family as Uncle Jimmy. He played for the New YorkRangers in the 50's. That was an ice hockey team and he played as aprofessional hockey player. Mildred Ann Bartlett (daughter of Cecil RayBartlett) recalls when she saw in the sports section of a grit, which wasa newspaper back in the 50's, there was a picture of James with hishockey stick up in the air, holding it over another player, with theheadlines reading "That Bartlett Temper."
He served in the U. S. Navy in World War II.
He may have been in the VA Home in later years of his life.

Mildred Ann BARTLETT

Mildred sang live on KOSY radio station, Texarkana. She met Jim Ed Brownand his sisters, and Elvis Presley. Johnny Horton's manager had a demotape of Mildred Ann, to show Johnny Horton but Johnny was killed (inTexas). Mildred was a dispatcher for Bi-States Justice and secretary.Also, she was a police dispatcher for Wake Village Police Department,where she has lived for almost 30 years, as of December 2000. She playedin the women's softball league (5 years) at Wake Village.
When Mildred was a dispatcher, this was for Bowie County (9 years).
She is a baptist.


Loretha Ann BARTLETT

Was adopted by Wesley Freeman in 1959. Father's name unknown. Loretha'snickname is "Rickie."
Baptized at The Fannin Street Baptist Church, Texarkana.
She is a square dance caller, medical profession, and played in thewomen's softball league for 5 years.
Hobbies: Gardening and fishing.
