James & the oldest son died from the 1918 flu...they are both buried in the
same grave in Erin Springs Cemetery.

Willie J. Hayes Rush Springs, was born October 13, 1903, Indian Territory (Oklahoma). He passed away May 11, 1989 at Veteran's Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Hayes had been a resident of Cox City, OK. for 40 years, where he farmed and ranched. He also served with honors as a weather observer witht he U. S. Department of Commerce for 17 years.
He married Marjorie M. Jackson on October 19, 1942 in Lindsay, OK.
Mr. Hayes served in World War II in the Army Infantry Medical Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hayes; two brothers, Jess Hayes and Lee Hayes, both of Lindsay; and four sisters, Tiny Peeler of Sulphur; May Huff of Tecumseh; and Fay Everett and Ruby Williams, both of Lindsay.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 15, 1989 at 2 p.m. in Erin Springs Baptist Church. Alvin McConnell and Bill Love officiated the services.
Pallbearers were Odell Parker, Sam Jone, Billie Joe Huff, Emmitt Harrison, Floyd Sullivan and Brunell Mowdy.
Interment was held in the Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, Lindasy, OK.
