1. Archibald was the oldest son of Robert Taylor, being left a competency, never engaged in any active business himself, but devoted his time to books, mechanics and the sciences.
1. A large portrait of Nancy Ann that was painted by an itinerant French artist about 1826 hangs in Connie Lee's house in Grosse, Ile. It came from the Flauvelt family. There was also one of George W. Taylor which burned. W. S. Blauvelt took a photo of it in 1889. We have a small copy of it. [Reported by Shirley Stanton]
1. Robert died of yellow fever in Port Rogers, Thompson Island, West Indies, now Key West, Florida.
2. He was a Midshipman in the U. S. Navy.
3. He was reintered at Clinton, ans was supposedly the first burial in the cemetery.
