George Washington PARKER

1. George kept Henry's children together after his death and raised them...

2. It is said that in the 1880's during the violence over "barbed wire" that George killed a man. The wire was keeping the cows from he salt licks, and someone was cutting the wire and a Mr. Williams thought it was George. George was at home, out at the well, when this man came to accuse him. George said he didn't cut the wire and the man came at George to fight. George picked up, a board or a tree limb and hit him over the head. The man died. However, George was not charged...it was called self-defense.

Harvey Hendrix HAYES

1. Harvey was a Baptist Preacher...

2. From the Ada Oklahoma Weekly News paper 14 Nov 1918..."VANOSS SCENE OF TRAGEDY" Small boy run down and killed by auto, driver commits suicide. A double tragedy marred the peace celebration at Vanoss this morning. The small son of F. B. Neal, section foreman, was run over and killed by an auto driven by H. H. Hayes. Overcome by the accident Mr. Hayes returned home and committed suicide by taking carbolic acid. (Eugenia Maxine Hayes Magness wrote that Harv shot himself) Who is correct?

3. It is said that the machine was not making more than ten miles per hour and the accident was due to the failure of the brakes to work as the car came down hill.

4. Mr. Hayes leaves a wife and three children to mourn his untimely end. [We are showing five so a couple must have died earlier.]

5. Written on his gravestone..."Promised To Meet In Heaven".


Wilburn Jefferson HAYES

1. Wilburn was 6' 1" Tall...Wavy Black Hair...Blue Gray Eyes...and all his kids had Blue Gray Eyes...

2. His mother died when he was only 4 years old. He never did get along very well with his step-mother.

3. In 1914, due to a bad crop year Wilburn, his wife, and three kids moved to Vanoss, Oklahoma.

4. He was elected Superintendent of Sunday School in Vanoss.

5. In early January 1920 the family moved back to Arkansas. He farmed cotton the first year. (Too cheap @ .04 cents) So, hay, peas, alfalfa and corn were the staple crops from then on.


Emma "Bessie" Elizabeth ROBINSON

1. Bessie's mother (name unknown) had snapping black eyes & died @ age 62 of a heart attack.

2. Bessie had blue gray eyes.

3. She played the organ.


Bessie Leone HAYES

1. Richard D. Jones reports that Bessie Leone Hayes never married and was living in Gassville, Arkansas in 1992, and she does not like family genealogy.


Infant HAYES

1. Eugenia Maxine Hayes Magness remembers when her brother was born...he was a pretty little dark haired boy, good looking.


Walter Eugene HAYES

1. Walter was a Sgt. in the Army Air Force during WW II.


John P. ROBINSON

1. Bessie had Blue Gray Eyes...and her mother had snapping black eyes & died @ age 62 of a heart attack at home...

2. Bessie played the organ.


Edward ROBINSON

1. Edward did have children according to Eugenia Maxine Hayes...the number or sex is not known.

2. He was a Railroad Engineer.
