Henry PARKER

1. Henry Parker came to Texas at the age of 19 in 1846...He was 23 years old when he came to Milam County

2. Henry Parker ran a store in Menard County, Texas about 1878-1880. One day he closed the store, began walking home, and was murdered on the way home.

3. Still another story has it that Nancy's brother "Bill" intended to kill Henry for putting his sister away in the State Mental Institution. So, Henry went for help to his father-in-law who lived in Abilene. Alexander gave him $60.00 and a good horse and Henry left on a cattle drive never to return.

4. Henry's younger children were kept together and raised by George Washington Parker who was only 19 years old at the time and single.

5. Henry could not write his own name...


Nancy BLACK

1. It is assumed that Nancy is buried in a plot at the Austin State Mental Hospital in Austin, Texas where she died.

2. Her admission was l Jan 1876 and she died 29 Apr 1902.

3. She had NO CORRESPONDANT which means that nobody visited or wrote to her.
