Chapel Clovis Hollingsworth
Funeral services for Chapel Clovis Hollingsworth, 82, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 15, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Chap went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 10, 2004.
He was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Marlow, Okla. to Robert and Florence Hollingworth. He married Oleda J. Rawls April 10, 1948. She preceded him in death 16 days earlier. Chap served as a gunner in a tank destroyer during WWII from Feb. 11, 1943 to Dec. 22, 1945. He was in Patton's 3rd Army and received a Purple Heart Medal.
Survivors include a son, Robert "Bob" Eugene and wife Katie of Lubbock; a daughter, Patricia Ann Dane and husband Bruce of Midwest City, Okla.; two brothers, Boyd and Lloyd; two sisters, Fern and Alma Jo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mavis; and two brothers, Ira and Dale.
The family suggests memorials to the building fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 5301 Aberdeen, Lubbock TX 79424.
