1. This writer, Earl L. Jones, NEPHEW had the privilege of seeing Aunt Fairy on 2 Sep 1991 at Oklahoma City. What a visit! Nice time at Aunt Gracie's house out at Harrah. Good meal and a good visit.

Raymond Carl HAYES

1. Uncle Raymond was a WW II Veteran...saw action in Germany. He was discharged at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas as T/5 after serving 22 months overseas with the 24th Engineers Battalion of the Fourth Armored Division and amassed 84 points.

2. He holds the following awards: Distinguished Unit Citation, Good Conduct Ribbon, and wore the ETO Ribbon with five battle stars.

3. He and Aunt Kathleen lived in an apartment just North of Valley View Hospital when they first married. I remember eating a mighty fine meal there as a lad.

4. When he got out of service they lived at 1130 East 5th Street, Ada, Oklahoma.

5. He later joined two of his brothers, Ardel & RJ in the H&H Cab Company in Holdenville, Oklahoma and then on to Sapulpa.

6. Last address was 1418 E. McLeod, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 74066 (918) 224-2515.


Chessie Kathleen TUCKER

1. Aunt Kathleen worked for some 15 years Bartlett Memorial Medical Center in 1982.

2. She later became a trip coordinator for Bea Spence of Travel Tours in Wagner, Oklahoma.

3. All that in addition to being a homemaker, mother, companion, she delivered Meals on Wheels twice a month.

4. She donated much time to her Church.

5. Many items of ceramics, needlepoint, sewing and other crafts were given to friends and relatives alike.

Raymond Francis ROBERTS

1. Ray was the 14th of 15 children born to Amos & Emma..

2. He married this writer's (Earl L. Jones) Aunt Delena Imogene Hayes, sister of my Mother Argie Beatrice Hayes...

3. Ray is kin to Earl L. Jones two ways...he married Delena Hayes who is an Aunt on mothers side...

4. I remember Ray & Delena coming out to visit in my "new" home in 1970 at Tatum, New Mexico...

2. This writer visited Delena & Ray in their home Thanksgiving Day 2001 [22 Nov 2001] and had a wonderful time.

3. Aunt Delena has a photo album with some priceless photos that she let me take home with me to scan and they came out absolutely marvelous...

4. I returned the album and other genealogy pages on 29 Jun 2002. Again we have a marvelous time and I even got to see and visit with Tim & his wife Pam.

Emma Thornton SLOAN

1. Obituary from Ada Evening News:

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Asbury Methodist Church for Mrs. Emma Thornton Roberts, 89, of 805 E. 12th, who died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital.
Mrs. Roberts was born Oct. 5, 1880 in Conway County, Arkansas. She was married to Amos P. Roberts, who died March 16, 1950. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Hazel Wise, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Flossie Grogan, Ada, Mrs. Thelma Burrus, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Margaret Saxer, Ft. Scott, Kan., Mrs. Virginia Scarborough, Dallas, and Mrs. Grace Heard, Cleveland, Okla.; a son Raymond Roberts, Cushing; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Two sons and two daughters preceded her in death.
The Rev. Kearny Graham will officiate the services. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery with Criswell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.


Nettie Lee Eddith HAYES

1. Lee was one of the earliest airline stewardesses in the 1940's.

2. At the time of Aunt Gracie's death she was living in Corpus Christi, Texas. (1999)

Calvin "Sarge" Eugene HAYES

1. Calvin retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years as a Tech Sergant. He had just recently retired from Fleming Foods after 20 years employment.

2. This writer, Earl L. Jones, remembers Calvin as a kind individual. When my mother, his Aunt Argie, had cancer and was receiving cemotherapy in Oklahoma City, he almost insisted that she stay with him during that process. I know he loved his mother and immediate family.

3. He grieved that his first son was so distant and would not reconcile with him.

4. No greater "host" than Cousin Calvin!

5. CALVIN HAYES
DEL CITY --- Services for Calvin E. "Sarge" Hayes, 63 , Del City, were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Southeast Chapel. Military graveside services were at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes died May 17, 1993. He was born July 12, 1929 in Ada.
At (after) 22 years, he retired from the United States Air Force as a tech sergeant. He recently retired from Fleming Foods after 20 years employment.
Survivors include his wife, Gerry, of the home; two sons, David R. Hayes, Midwest City, and Eddie E. Hayes, Ada; a daughter Melissa L. Crawford, Norfork, Va.; his mother, Gracie M. Mears, Harrah; four sisters, Lee Franklin, Del City, Betty Bobo, Fort Worth, Texas, Pat Henson, Ada, and Phyllis Hayes, Okmulgee; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
