1. OBITUARY Margaret H. Staton, 70

Margaret Huntley Station, 70, of Hendersonville, died Thursay, June 24, 1999, in her home following an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. She was the foster daughter of the late Charles Franklin McMinn and Blanche Hudgins McMinn and the biological daughter of the late Margaret Dortha Huntley.
She was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary and administrative assistant office manager. She held positions with the Production and Marketing Administration of the U. S. Department of Agriculture; Boyd Pontiac, Cadillac, Buick; Hendersonville First United Methodist Church and Camp Pinnacle.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 5206 and the Pilot Club of Hendersonville, where she served two terms as president of local club and as public relations chairman on the district level. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
She was active in veterans' programs and was designated a distinguished leader by the Disabled American Veterans. She helped organize her husband's World War II veterans group, the 622nd Ordnance Battalion Association.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Louise Station; and a half-sister, Elizabeth.
