Earl Lee Jones & Shirley Jane Wilson Family Tree

Notes

Mary BRAY

1. It is not known what Mary Bray/Seabrook/Whitlock's maiden name was. The key to that lies in England, in all probability. It is most likely that Richard and Mary emigrated from Southwest England, where the Bray name is concentrated, as others have noticed. But the fact that Richard and John are the two most common names in the Bray familes of England doesn't help any! [Remarks of Shirley Stanton]

Anna SEABROOK

1. Shirley Stanton lists Anna's parents as Nehemiah Seabrook and May.

Samual Loranzo SLIGER "Sr"

1. Earl L. Jones has known this family since about age 5 (1939).

2. Sam worked at Wickham Packing Plant for a number of years before going to work for Reeves Packing Plant.

Roland ANDREWS

1. In his father's Will RHD (Roland or Richard) received 1 Negro Girl named Jean.

2. A June 1773 Mecklenburg County, Virginia deed from Rowland Andrews to Sylvanua Walker indicates that there was an unnamed wife. Therefore, we would expect children to be born beginning at least b y 1774.

3. Rowland Andrews is listed on the 1782 Mecklenburg County, Virginia Census with 6 whites in his household.

4. The 1850 Randolph County, North Carolina census indicates Harmon Andrews' age to be 71. Harmon is indicated in the Rowland Andrews Will as being the eldest son.

5. Randolph Co, NC Loose Wills File, NC Archives.

Judge Williams one of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto ordered that the same be administered and recorded October Tem 1786.

Henrietta

1. The 1830 Randolph County, North Carolina Census lists Roland Andrews as Head of Household...Henrietta is obviously deceased at this time.

Beverly "Bevoley" ANDREWS

1. List of people in the poor establishment, December 1844: Beverly Andrews, 68 years. (Miscellaneous Records, Williamson County, Tennesse, Vol. 2, Louise Gillespie Lynch, 1978, p. 1)

2. The above record dates Beverly Andrews as being born abt. 1776.

Lucy ANDREWS

1. The 1800 Randolph County, North Carolina, census lists the widow (Henrietta) Andrews, 1 male 10-16 years old, which would be consistent with Rowland Andrews' 1850 Carroll County, Georgia, census record. The older boys appear to be split between the households of Harmon & Henrietta in 1800. Harmon's household (enumerated next to Widow Andrws) shows 2 males 16-26 & Henrietta's household shows 2 males 16-26. That accounts for all the male children. Lucy appears to be either married or deceased in 1800. The fact that 3 children under the age of 10 also were living in the Widow Henrietta's household might indicate that Lucy was deceased at that time.

Roland A. ANDREWS

1. Roland Jr. was reputed to be a posthumous son of Rowland & Henrietta Andrews.

2. His move to Georgia can be documented as 1838 due to the fact that he was on the 1838 Randolph County, North Carolina tax list.

Hilva KELLY

1. Hilva is listed as "Hilvy" and Head of Household on the 1860 Paulinding County, Georgia, with daughter Henrietta and her future husband, John A. Mills. Roland was obviously decease by the enumeration of that census.

Richard ANDREWS

1. The 1850 census indicates Richard's age as 70 and is consistant with him being the 4th son born to Rowland & Henrietta.

Harris ANDREWS

1. The Randolph County, North Carolina tax lists show Harris Andrrews as paying tax on the land on which the younger Rowland Andrews had lived, after Rowland's move to Georgia.
