6. Obituary Published: The Lindsay News --- Rites Held for Rev. Hays, 96
Rev. Hendrix Hayes, 96, a resident of this community for the past 20 years and of the state since 1902, died here last Friday. His funeral was held Sunday afternoon in the chapel at Brown's funeral home. Rev. Hayes moved his family to a farm south of Lindsay in 1930. He was ordained to the ministry of the Baptist church about 60 years ago, and was active in the church until ill health forced him to retire.
On Oct. 3, 1897, Rev. Hayes Married Miss Edna Eva Talburt at Mountain Home, Arkansas. In 1902 the family moved to Indian Territory. Most of the time since then has been spent in Garvin county and the Lindsay community.
Among the survivors are his wife, Eva Hayes and eitht children. Two sons, Ray and R. J., and one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Cox live in the community.
The other children are Ernest and F. C., who live in Oklahoma City; Mrs. Mabel Webb of Madill; Mrs. Amy Jo Zinn of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Pearl McCoy of Ada. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, two great-grand-children and one sister who lives in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. J. Cherry. Pallbearers were Georg McCoy, Walter Price, Wes Farrow, Everett Gregory, Harrison Archer, and George Huffington. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Era Hayes, who died Monday, Aug. 20, at her home south of Lindsay, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Brown Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Hayes was born Jan. 29, 1876 at Mountain Home, Ark., and had lived in the Lindsay area for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hendrix Hayes, on Sept. 8, 1950.
Her survivors include eitht children, four sons; Ernest of Oklahoma City, Ray of Lindsay, Forrest of Konowa, R. J. of Lindsay; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Cox of Lindsay; Mabel Webb of Ada, Jo "Vinn" Zinn of Oklahoma City, Pearl McCoy of Ada; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Ketner of Purcell, Myrtle Shore of Stratford and Effie Myers of Whittier, Calif; 15 granchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Rev. B. T. "Meal" Neal of Elmore City will be in charge of the services.
Pall bearers will be Purman Henson, Everett Gregory, Edgar Newby, Jack McClure, Harrison Archer and James White.
Burial will be in the Greren Hill Cemetery.

4. Published: The Lindsay News --- LAST RITES FOR PIONEER LADY

Funeral services were held in Brown funeral chapel Thursday for Anice Rebecca Hayes, a resident of the Lindsay community for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Hayes and her husband, Oliver Newton Hayes, moved to a farm near here in 1920 where they reared eight children.
Children are Mrs. Tinia "Tina" Peeler, Jesse W. Hayes, L. E. Hayes and Mrs. Ruby Alcorn, all of Lindsay; and Mrs. Fay Everett of Purcell, Mrs. May (Mae) Huff of Tecumseh, Willie J. Hayes of Marlow and Mrs. Anna Bell Mullins of Tulsa.
Other survivors are two step-children, Arther P. Hayes and Mrs. Zelyer (Zealyer) Buzbee of Linday, and 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Pauls Valley Cemetery under the direction of Brown funeral home.


Jesse Wilson HAYES

4. OBITUARY --- Jesse Wilson Hayes

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 27, 1990, at the Erin Springs Baptist Church for Jesse Wilson Hayes. Reverend Bill Love officated the services.
Mr. Hayes was born April 3, 1900, in Fayettville, Ark., and passed away Tuesday, January 25, 1990, in the Lindsay Municipal Hospital, at the age of 89.
He had lived in Arkansas and Stratford before moving to the Lindsay community in 1927. Mr. Hayes was a farmer and preacher.
Survivors include one brother, Lee Hayes of Lindsay; four sisters, Tina Peeler, Fay Everett and Ruby Williams, all of Lindasy, and Mae Huff of Tecumseh; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Newton Hayes and Anice Rebecca Talburt Hayes.
Interment was held in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home, Linday, Oklahoma.
