1. William lived his first 10 years in Tennessee. The family moved to Illinois in 1838 where his mother died and is reported to be buried near the present site of Cairo, Illinois. In 1839 they moved to Mississippi and after the War with Mexico, Bill Miles moved to Rusk County, Texas in January 1850, and to Harrison County, Texas in 1854.
2. William Miles served in the War with Mexico and with the First Mississippi Battalion, Company E, 14th Texas Cavalry, Confederate States of America, in the Civil War. He had his arm blown off with a "mini-ball" just above the elbow in battle and had to swim the Mississippi River near Memphis with only one arm to get back to his family.3. Starting from scratch after he got back to his family, he still had the ability to amass a fortune from farming during his lifetime. They lived in Harrison County, mostly in the Longview area and around Hallsville.
4. His ability was recognized througout the community and he was the reighborhood advisor on all matters pertaining to farming and business.
5. A will dated 24 Jul 1909, Harrison County, Texas, was left.
6. LKD reports the names of William’s partents as Armsead Miles and Elizabeth Arthuer.

2. Travis Southerland obtained a copy of Death Certificate for Mary Loise Price Southerland. The certificate listed her parents as Angie H. Price and Lizzie Kuykendall.
3. Gum Springs Cemetery is located near Longview, South of Marshall, Texas.
4. It is also reported that Angie H. Price is buried in the Glalock-Munden Cemetery, Harrison, Texas....which is correct?
