1. Mr. Shreve was an electrician.


Catherine KUYKENDALL

1. Catherine & Mr. Shreve lived at Goble, Oregon.


Phillip GOODE

1. Philip Goode was 5' 10" tall, weighed 216#, and was a Methodist.

2. Phillip was the only married brother when the Samuel Goode family moved to Warren County, Ohio.

3. He opposed slavery as a great national and social evil, and saw its demoralizing influences, and was unwilling to raise his family in a slave state...thus the move to Ohio.

4. His dying expression was "My house is ready".


Rebeckah HAYES

1. Rebeckah Goode had 15 slaves as her marriage protion.

Abner KUYKENDALL

1. James Kuykendall offers alternate place of birth as Rutherford County, Tennessee...another source (LDK) reports that he was born in Cookeville, Putnam, Tennessee.

2. Marshall E. Kuykendall reports that he received info from an old friend Thomas Lindley showing a Land Certificate whereby Maria D. Kuykendall swore in Bell County, Texas that her husband, Abner, had served in the Texas Army in 1835 & 1836 and that he died on 7 Oct 1867. The certificate was signed in Bell County, Texas.

Before me W. M. Minyard County Judge of the county aforsaid personall appeared Mrs. Maris Kuykendall to me well known who being duly sworn says:
1st, that she is the widow of Abner Kuykendall who died on or about the 7th day of October 1867.
2nd, that affiant and said Abner Kuykendall were living together as husband and wife at the time of his death.
3rd, that affiant is unmarried and has always been unmarried since the death of her siad husband.
4th, that said Abner Kuykendall was a soldier and actually rendered military service in the Texas Army before the declaration of Texas Independence and prior to January 1st 1837-
5th, that said Abner Kuykendall intered such service on or about the first day of September 1835 and was honorably discharged on or about the 1st day of December 1835.
6th, that during said term said Ab ner Kuykendall served in the following Companies and Regiments in Captain Birds Company. Name of Regiment not remembered. (space) that said Abner Kuykendall affiants husband is the same identical Abner Kuykendall who served in such companies and regiments that affiant is now a resident citizen of Bell County Texas. Also at the same time before me personally came L. P. Moore and Daniel McKay, credible persons and to me well known who being duly sworn depose and say that they know Maria Kuykendall that she is the identical person she represents herself to be and that the facts stated by her are true.

3. Betty Kuykendall Price et al refers to Absolum as "Absolene", and further states, "it has been stated that Absolene became a Mormon and had other wives, names unknown. I have not confirmed this. There were 15 children".....

4. The spelling of the name could be Absolom, Absolam, Absolum, etc. [Take your pick]

5, Note: White Plains, Jackson, Tennessee is now Cookville, Putnam, Tennessee.

6. Alternate place of death: San Antonio, Bexar, Texas.
