1. Jeremie's biological father was Billy Paul Franklin who still lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
2. This writer picked Jeremie up from the New Mexico State Penitentiary in either the last part of 1996 or the early part of 1997, having completed his debt to Society. I took him to a mall in Santa Fe where new shoes, shirts, pants, underware, socks, & etc. were purchased.
3. We went to this writer's home in Tatum, New Mexico, and spent the night. The next day we went on down to Hobbs to his Grandparents home.

SEMINOLE (Special) A Gaines County jury sentenced 22-year-old Jeremie Griffin to 37 years in prison Tuesday for the July 1997 shooting of 21-year old Nijoy Oliver.
"I feel like he deserved a lot more considering his criminal record," Assistant District Attorney Sam McCrary said after the sentence was handed down.
Griffin, who has six prior felony convections in Texas and New Mexico, pleaded guilty to attempted murder Monday as jurors were about to begin hearing his case.
The defendant took the stand Tuesday in his own defense, telling jurors he was sorry for what he had done, McCrary said.
"He doesn't think he can change now, but somewhere down the road he thinks he can change," McCrary said.
Griffin pleaded guilty to shooting Oilver the night of July 18, 1997, at a caliche pit party in western Gaines County.
Prosecutors contended Griffin shot Oliver for no good reason after the victim was involved in a dispute with one of the shooter's friends.
Griffin had faced up to life in prison for the crime. He will be eligible for parole in 18-l/2 years.5. Jeremie had already been arrested by the Lea County Sheriff's Department on July 22 on a warrant for attempted murder from a shooting in Hobbs on July 7th of Keith Ryan Fields. He was in the Lea County Detention Center when he was arrested on the second charge. He had been arraigned and bond had been set at $$50,000.
