1. According to Norman Davis, Nancy moved to Spartanburg and lived with her son, Thomas Joseph "TJ" Allen.

Mrs. Nancy Allen, age 85, died at her home in Whitney yesterday after an illness of sometime. The funeral was held this afternoon at Boiling Springs.
4. Nancy is buried in an unmarked grave in the Boiling Springs Baptist Church cemetery, Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

3. Jacob served in Co. "G" 35th Regiment NC State Troups during Civil War. He received wounds in battles at Plymouth, North Carolina and Petersburg, Virginia and lost two fingers.
4. It is assumed that he was discharged because he enlisted again in the Confederate Army, Co. "K" 1st Cavalry at Camp Holmes, North Carolina on 21 Sep 1864 under Col. Mallette.
5. On 13 Apr 1865 he was captured at Aberdeen and taken to City Point, Virginia, arriving on 13 Apr 1865. He escaped and fled to his home where the troops came to look for him. He had to leave his wife and family and made his way to Piedmont, South Carolina.
6. They were on the 1880 Census for Spartanburg, Campobella Twp, SC. They returned to Flat Rock,
Henderson, North Carolina where he filed a claim for a soldier's pension on 8 May 1885.
