Samuel Thomas MC MINN "I"

1. Samuel left a Will in North Carolina.

2. Information from Dorothy Mc Minn Megaris & Travis Mc Minn, Desc., and 1790-1810 Censuses.

3. Samuel T. "Sr" owned a large farm in Yell County, Arkansas.

4. Most likely a Nephew of Robert McMinn b. 1731...

5. Some of their family moved to Tennessee and on West.

6. Darrell <brendadarrell@mcmsys.com> reports that Samuel Sr. & Washington were in the same household until Samuel's death in 1852.


Rachel

1. Rachel left a will in 1828.


Jehu MC MINN

1. In some records Jehu's name has been misread as "John".

2. Jehu was evidently the first of the family to go to Wilson County, Tenn.

3. On 19 Nov 1813 he bought 100 acres of land on Smith Fork of the Caney Fork for $300 and on 14 Nov 1816 he bought an additonal 50 acres adjoining his other property for another $300.

4. Jehu (Jahu) was listed on the 1820 Wilson County, Tennessee, Census.

5. Pam Russell lists him as "Jahugh" from the 1830 Wilson County, Tennessee, Census.

6. In his Will dated 6 Sep 1836, he mentions his wife, Rebekah, "brothers, sisters and heirs of those deceased, and names Samuel Newton McMinn, his nephew as administrator.

7. List of children from 1830 Wilson County, Tennessee, Census.


Elihu MC MINN

1. Elihu was listed on the 1820 Wilson County, Tennessee Census.

2. Elihu & Jean were living on land adjoining her father's propery when Robert Donnell's Will was written but they were in Wilson County, Tennessee.

3. The 1840 Wilson County, Tennessee, Census showes McMinn, Elihue pg. 307, l male 60-70, slaves: 2 male 10-24, 1 female 10-24.

Jedidah MC MINN

1. Jedidah was a Circuit Riding Minister who was one of the first preachers of Shiloh United Mathodist Church that was organized in 1808 in what is now Madison County, Alabama. Check out a very good article on the history of the church @ http://neill.cowles.home.mchi.com/history.html

2. He was listed on the 1820 Wilson County, Tennessee, Census, then went to Missouri shortly thereafter.

3. Jedidah's father, Daniel, deeded 227 acres in Wilson County, Tennessee, on Smith Fork to him and it was recorded 29 Jan 1829, for "natural love and affection".
