1. Terry Gene Stanley, Jr. is the biological father of Hannah, but, he and Leslie were not married.
1. Edgar was only 5-l/2 years old when his mother died in the Spring of 1897 after giving birth to her eighth child. Edgar's father took his young family North to live amoung his wife's family members near Ada, Oklahoma, around the Knox Community a few miles SW of Ada where he lived for the next twenty years.
2. In the 1900 Census Edgar and his two older brothers, Wade and Ernest, were living with one of their mother's younger sisters, Aunt Berline (Golden) Brandon.
3. At the age of 25 Edgar joined the U. S. Army, enlisting at Ft. Sill, Okla. on June 7, 1917, and he served in the trenches of the Argone Forest in France. He was a member of the 165th Infantry and was honorably discharged on May 14, 1919, at Camp Pike, Arkansas. He returned to Ada, where he married Julia Tatum ten days after his discharge. Julia had also been raised in the Knox Community, very near the Brandon and Fullingim familes. She was a very quiet and peaceful woman, a housewife and a fine mother for her five boys and one girl, Mintihoya who is this writer's (Earl L. Jones) "favorite" sister-in-law.
4. Ed worked for Mr. John Barringer on his ranch located near Roff, Oklahoma, until he went to work in Ada for the Ideal Cement Plant.

2. Mrs. Fullingim lived with her daughter Mintihoya and son-in-law Buell Jones until her death.

1. Twins: Julia Fullingim gave birth to a second set of twins on 4 Mar 1924, that were premature due to the fact that she had the measles, therefore, they did not survive.

Staff Sgt. Erickson "Eric" Heath PETTY
1. Eric attended Byng Elementary School.
2. Eric graduated from Fort Gibson High School in 1993.
3. Eric & Kim's address was 318 Langton, Fort. Gibson, Oklahoma - 74434, prior to February 2003 when he was transfered to the 1st Armored Divison in Baumholder, Germany. His wife Kim & son Colton were still living in Germany. In May 2003 he was shipped to Iraq.
4. Eric & three other members of his patrol captured Mahmud Dhiyab Al-Ahmad, Iraq's Minister of the Interior, who was designated the number "7" of spades in decks of cards representing the most wanted individuals in the former regime of President Saddam Hussein.
5. He and three other members of his patrol rescued a fellow soldier in December 2003. The Humvee they were in had been attacked and had overturned and was on top of the soldier. Eric single-handedly lifted the Humvee up long enough for the trapped soldier to be pulled out. Eric had to spend three days in the hospital from back injuries received.
6. Eric was awarded a Bronze Star & Purple Heart for his heroric rescue of a soldier in December.
7. DOD Identifies Army Casualty: Petty was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armoured Division, Smith Barracks, Baumholder, Germany.
8. U. S. Army Staff Sgt. Erickson Petty, of Fort Gibson, died a day before his 29th birthday. [Shot in the neck] Department of Defense officials said Petty was killed in an ambush as his Army unit secured a weapons cache in Salman Al Habb, Iraq, near Baghdad when his group came under attack by small arms fire. The tragedy comes on the heels of the deaths of eight other members of his unit in the 1st Armoured Division who were killed April 29 when a bomb hit as they tried to clear explosives from a road south of Baghdad. When Petty's unit was ambushed he commanded his soldiers to get into their Humvees. He was the last one to get in and they shot him. He was responsible for his men. They said if it hadn't been for him, more lives would have been lost.
9. Flags around Fort Gibson flew at half-staff Tuesday in honor of Sgt. Eric Petty.
10. Eric's mother and father traveled to Germany for a memorial service and will return Sunday on Mother's Day.
11. There will be a full Military Service of Honors on Tuesday, 8 May 2004, at the Fort Gibson National Memorial Cemetery near Muskogee, Oklahoma.
12. In an article published by the Ada Evening News Oct. 5, 2003, Petty was quoted as saying, "We don't know who the enemy is half the time. We're cops, diplomats, public-affairs officers ---- and then, we're just like a regular soldier".
13. In a recent letter to his parents, Eric summed up his feeling about his role in the military: "There's no greater honor than leading American soldiers in combat". Those under his command said it was their greatest honor to serve with a real American hero.
